RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT

TRAINING ON RTI ACT 2005

** Training applicable for both Public & Public Authorities

Role of Civic Organisations

Apart from Public Authorities who are answerable to the public under this Act, Citizens can also avail this opportunity to know their rights and powers under this Act. Most of the people are still not aware of this Act fully. Hence the Citizen Welfare Organisations can also contact the Author to conduct training programmes to elite group so that the message can properly reach the grass root level. The awareness about this Act among the public will definitely reduce the burden of Public Authorities, as they will be informed about the kind of information they can seek under this Act and also what are all the items exempted from disclosure as per the Law. This is the first such powerful legislation through which any Indian Citizen can seek information from Public Authorities. This Act promotes transparency in administration and creates accountability among the Public Authorities thereby serving to contain corruption in public life.
